A visit with the Raynors

We have had a great visit with the Raynors this past week. What a treat to be able to spend so much time with this family. Melanie was my best friend while at Messiah and we were roommates for two years. We don't chat nearly as much as we'd like, but God has blessed us greatly by always knitting our hearts together when we visit. Todd, a 4th grade teacher, and Mel, a music teacher, both head back to the classroom soon, so this was a final summer celebration.

I'd say we did a pretty good time of savoring the remaining days. One day we hauled kayaks, a canoe, and picnic goodies to a nearby pond. It was a great day for being on the water and we had the area to ourselves for much of the morning. The kids had fun swimming and most of us had a good time in the kayaks as well! It was a true Maine day with sun, water, and fun. We kept in the Maine spirit with a lobster dinner that evening. A thundershower chased us inside, but we still cracked our lobster and ate up ever buttery morsel. YUM!

Of course, a visit to our house always includes at least one outing to Gifford's. Ahh...it's been a yummy summer with all these visitors! Ethan will be having withdrawl soon!

We also taveled to Bar Harbor and Acadia. We loved our time on the rocks! Some of the boys check out the waves.

Camden had a great time waiting for the waves to come and get him. Got to get those piggies wet!

Kenna and Mel enjoyed the sound of the waves and the view.

Some daring rock climbers.

What a smile!

Mama keeping an eye on the boys.

Todd and Owen enjoy a hideaway in the rocks.

We sure did enjoy our time together and hope they are MORE ready for the beginning of school after their time with us!
