What do you do when it keeps snowing?

This is a catch-up post from the last day in February. Sorry for the delay.

We had a sticky wet snow this last day of February. Ethan was out and about ready to clean up after the snow. He wasn't too thrilled that his icy crust was gone from the deep snow in the yard. He'd enjoyed walking on the crust and going wherever he wanted, so when he headed out today and sunk down to his hip, he wasn't too happy.

I don't know if this will be our last snow or not, but I thought we should celebrate in faith that spring will be coming. And how do you celebrate spring in Maine, you ask? With ice cream of course! Or in this case, snow cream.

I gathered up a big "ball" of fresh snow and carried it into the house. Ethan was instantly both curious and worried. (He didn't want the snow to make a mess int he house!) We put the snow in a bowl and proceeded to make snow cream by adding a little sugar and some vanilla. This will NEVER beat Gifford's (our favorite ice cream here in Maine) in a taste test, but it sure was fun. And Ethan was NOT going to complain about getting to have ice cream in the middle of the afternoon!

Many of you will have to wait until next year to make your own snow cream. WE HOPE! But if life gives you snow in springtime....make snow cream!
