Halloween has been a pretty low key holiday in our house. This year Ethan was very much looking forward to dressing up. He decided he wanted to be a football player- a STEELERS football player. Because we know how much he uses his baseball equipment, we decided we'd splurge bit and get him a uniform. He was VERY excited when we gave it to him. There were even unprompted "thank yous", which show us that a message of gratitude is getting in there in some way. He's worn his costume daily for the past week and a half. He couldn't wait to show his friends at school.
Thankfully, the morning of the "parade" at school was a dry one, and Ethan could wear his costume. He was a happy boy. Sister donned her Steelers' cheerleader costume to cheer him on.
Ethan's never been big on trick or treating. In the past we've gone to 3 houses in the neighborhood. This year I told him he had to say, "Trick or treat" if we were going. Nope. He didn't want to. So guess what, we didn't go. Being a Wednesday, this was fine since we were off to church anyway.
When I asked Ethan if things went like he'd hoped for Halloween. He said, "Yes. Except I wish you could have stayed and helped in my classroom." So those were the big happenings at our house.
