Not in my garden!

Yes...that's a snapping turtle.  AND yes, that's my garden.

I disturbed her earlier in the day, because I didn't realize she was looking to probably lay some eggs in the "nice" sandy soil of my hillside garden.   BIG mistake.  Because she came back and then crawled zig zag up and down the hill creating quite a mess.  FINALLY I had it and hauled her off a good distance away from the garden, but also near some water and possibly great digging place. I'm sure I was quite a sight carrying a thrashing snapper around.  Don't mess with my garden!


P.S.  A few days later we found a painted turtle wandering around near the garden.  Really?
