Fall Fun
Our church headed out to the orchard to pick apples. YUM! Todd’s mouth is watering just thinking about the pies we’ll be having. Ethan joined us as we picked a few apples, and just enjoyed being outside on a fall day. He didn’t think too much of the draft horses or the cows in the pasture, but his country girl mom did! Maybe in the months ahead he’ll enjoy the applesauce that his mom’s planning to make from the big bag of drop apples she bought. She has all kinds of tasty treats planned with her autumn harvest!
Besides going to the orchard, we also stopped at Gifford’s. Today was their closing day, and that means that it’s Buy One, Get One Free. We’ve stocked up the freezer. Last year, we made one quart last almost the whole winter. We used it VERY sparingly! This year, thanks to the addition of our upright freezer, we added a few more quarts to our supply which we hope will last us until the first weekend of spring when Gifford’s reopens. (Picture March, mittens, and ICE CREAM…it’s a Maine thing!)
