The final celebration

Later during our visit we celebrated Christmas for one final time. After a delicious dinner of beef roast topped off with homemade icecream, we exchanged gifts. It was great fun seeing Taylor, Becca, and Ethan unwrap their presents and begin to play with them. Ethan was eager to help Becca and Taylor play with their toys also!

We headed off to bed wondering if all the ice would come that was predicted.

Sure enough, the next day was a wintery day and we delayed our return to Maine. It was nice to have one final quiet day together with the ice building up outside and everyone cozy inside.

Thankfully, the next day was clear and we traveled home without any problems. Ethan did a pretty good job with this trip, too. What a pro! He was happy though to be back in his own bed and slept until 7:30 the next morning...which was a treat since he was up at 6 every morning during our trip!

We sure miss all of our family when we're away, but we're looking forward to warmer days and visitors in Maine!
