Winter Vacation
Around here it was winter vacation last week. Funny thing about that winter vacation. Our snow just kept melting and melting. Now ordinarily you would think this would be a cause for great rejoicing. But for a few strange people (the writer of this blog among their number) it wasn't. This is because of two things. ONE- a friend of ours was visiting and we had hoped to do some great snowshoeing during her visit. It's hard to do that when you the snow keeps disappearing. TWO- I have a fear that the snow we don't get now we'll get in April during SPRING break, and I'd rather be looking for Easter eggs in green grass then in white, sparkling snow!
Anyway, it was a still a good week. We enjoyed our visit with Nicole. We tried to go out snowshoeing/walking twice. Both times Ethan wasn't thrilled about the process, so I ended up getting an extra work out! We spent lots of time playing with Ethan. We cooked up a storm and enjoyed a number of tasty treats including some homemade doughnuts. YUM! Both of us were back in our grandmother's kitchens as we savored those treats.
Before we knew it though, the week was over. Nicole heads back to teaching tomorrow. Hopefully they all have a smooth day! It's hard for everyone to get back in gear after a break.
I wasn't very good about taking pictures over break, but here are two shots of Ethan that are fun to share. He's turning into quite a train lover these days. He plays with one he built from Legos and a Geotrax train almost every day. Thomas and friends have been in the "roundhouse" do to the takeover of Little People in the playroom. But every nap and bedtime we read from his big book of Thomas stories. All Aboard!
AND we sent Nicole off on her return journey with the taste of Gifford's on her lips. Ethan had it more than just on his lips!
