Red on the Landscape

My calendar suggests that I should soon be seeing this kind of red on the landscape.

HOWEVER, this was the only red I saw today!

I hate that calendars suggest that we should be seeing spring flowers and warm sunshine. That's simply NOT how it is in Maine during the months of March AND April! I do have hope though...we had mighty warm temperatures the other day that made the snow piles shrink considerably. My mind immediately started to think about gardening and mowing grass. Those warm days will come. But until then, I guess I better keep my friend the snowblower close by and ready for service.

Hope some of you are having a REAL Spring day! (By the way...we had around 6-8 inches of snow I'd guess. That's much better than the last snowfall!)
