Thursday, June 24th- Arches National Park

We traveled Wednesday evening to Arches National Park. We spent the morning driving to various view points in the park. The rocks are constantly changing due to erosion. More arches are being created and others are falling. What I loved was the reminder that God didn't just create the rocks and all that we see, he created the processes, the intricate steps with just the right ingredients, that produce such wonders.

In the afternoon Todd and I took a hike to venture a little bit further into the park. We walked with his Mom to see Tunnel Arch and Pine Tree Arch and then hit the trail to see what we could see. Now we know you should hike a desert-like environment in the morning or evening. However, Ethan seems to require extra attention at those critical times, so we were left with hiking in the middle of the day. Temperatures were over 100 degrees. I'd like to think it was the heat that kept us from doing the WHOLE trail. We did get to see some amazing things on the part we hiked. And some of the trail was really amazing, too!

After we returned from our hike Ethan was rearing to go. So we headed to an easier trail for him to join us. He hiked to Skyline Arch and enjoyed the "pretty" view.
